Is This the Year for an AC Replacement?

Much as we’d like to tell you otherwise, there will come a time when your air conditioner will either break down completely, or just not be worth repairing any longer. When that time comes, remember to schedule your air conditioning replacement in Washington, DC with us. Of course, before you can do so, you must first learn to recognize that the time has come for an AC replacement. A complete failure is a pretty obvious sign, naturally, but you ideally will not wait until your system fails entirely before replacing it. Keep the tips below in mind, and contact Polar Bear Air Conditioning & Heating Inc. if you suspect that the time for a replacement air conditioner has arrived.

Are You Repairing Your System Frequently?

When something goes wrong with your air conditioning system, you should always hire a trained professional repair your system. Of course, there is a limit to the repairs that you should tolerate. If you are paying to have your system repaired with great frequency, you may actually be better of just investing in a replacement system. Not only will you be able to cool your home more reliably, but you will be able to offset the initial expense with the amount that you save on repair services over time.

How Old Is Your System?

It may seem counter-intuitive or even indulgent to replace your air conditioner when it is still up and running. Considering how hot our summer season is, though, it only makes sense that you  know for certain that your system will make it through the summer months. If your air conditioner is nearing the end of its projected lifespan, you are wise to consider its replacement. Better to have a new system in place when summer sets in than to have to replace your AC in the thick of it.

Does It Work Efficiently?

Your air conditioner shouldn’t cost you a fortune to operate. It is possible that your system has a low efficiency rating, but if it used to cool your home affordably and now struggles to do so, you might want to replace your air conditioner with a more efficient system. This wiill allow you to live comfortably in a more affordable manner.
