Do I Need a New Heater?

Our team is not here to sell you a brand new heating system that you do not need. However, we have seen time and time again that some homeowners struggle to determine when a heating replacement is really in their best interest. We’ve put together a few tips to help you to decide if this is the year for a heating replacement in Capitol Hill.

Consider the Age of Your System

No mechanical system, including the greatest heaters ever manufactured, will last forever. While it is not uncommon for a home heating system to outlast its projected lifespan, the age of your heater is definitely something to consider before subjecting it to another season of operation. If your heater is at its projected end of life, or if it is already beyond that point, it may be best to replace the system with a newer model and end your relationship with the existing system on a high note.

Review Its Efficiency

Have you found that your heater is operating less efficiently than it once did? This could be tied in with its advanced age, which is another reason to consider replacing an older system, even if it is still up and running. If you were on a tight budget at the time of purchasing your heater, you may have opted for a more affordable, but less efficient, system. If so, and you have the means now, you may want to replace your system with a more efficient one to enjoy long-term energy savings.

Evaluate Its Design

While your heater may be working fine, it is possible that it’s not the ideal heater for your preferences. This is often the case for homeowners that simply inherited their heaters when they purchased their homes. We understand that many are inclined to just deal with it, until the heater is no longer operational. For those that truly want to heat their homes on their own terms, however, replacing the system with one of their choosing makes a lot of sense.
